81,000 warning letters sent to crypto holders in HMRC tax crackdown
HMRC sent 81,000 letters to people who have crypto. These letters tell them to pay tax. More letters went out this year than last year. A Freedom of Information request showed this. The number of letters is almost three times more than in 2024. HMRC wants people to pay their taxes. They are checking who has crypto. They want to make sure everyone pays what they should.
