Fifa is the group that runs world football. They had a plan to sell parts of their big events. Many people did not like this idea. So, Fifa stopped the plan. The president of Fifa, Gianni Infantino, wanted to do this plan. But there was too much opposition.
Fifa's plan was to sell stakes in major competitions. This means they wanted to let others own parts of these events. Many people said no to this plan. They thought it was not a good idea. Fifa listened to them and decided not to go ahead.
